Mission Statement

The Pastel Society of the Gold Coast is a non-profit organization for the specific purpose of providing public exhibitions for its members, to educate the community through collaboration with environmental and other non-profit organizations, and to promote the arts in general.

Coming in February - The Living Ocean.  See the Events page.

Founding members of the Pastel Society of the Gold Coast (PSGC), gathered in 2009 with a vision to combine talents for enhanced opportunities.  After 15+ years, our society still supports members with yearly exhibitions featuring work in pastel.  We recognize that artists love to experiment with other mediums, so additional opportunities to exhibit these mediums broaden the dynamic of this group.  PSGC is a member of the International Association of Pastel Societies which carries with it a beneficial mix of opportunities to learn, exhibit and become recognized as leaders in the pastel world.  From acceptance into juried international shows to national exhibitions, museums and the local county fair, our members earn top awards with their talent and perseverance.

Artistic growth is what we seek - and what we achieve.

It's difficult to count the number of hours it takes to become a Master Pastelist, Distinguished Member or Associate with Distinction, but our members have done it along with creating artworks that receive blue ribbons, cash prizes, awards of merit and recognition.

We are teachers, mentors and members of numerous art groups all in the pursuit of supporting the arts.  Our outreach program includes plein air paint-outs that are open to the public and financial contributions to organizations selected to be our charities.  PSGC is a 501c3 non-profit organization with the mission to provide public exhibitions for its members, to educate the community through collaboration with environmental and other non-profit organizations and to promote the arts in general.

New members are juried in once a year.  Visit our Membership Application page for more information about how to join PSGC.
