Lori was born in New York City. She moved to Ojai, California in 1987. She worked for many years as a legal secretary and as a Mortgage Loan Consultant. After moving to Ojai, Lori felt compelled to capture and share the beauty of the California landscape.
Lori has studied with many acclaimed artists to sharpen her artistic abilities. She started painting with soft pastels, but has also incorporated oil and acrylic paints into her tools of the trade. As her art continues to evolve, Lori has found that she also enjoys creating paintings of the wildlife which she encounters in nature locally and from her travels. Lori prefers to paint "en plein air" (which is French for outdoors) because she enjoys the spontaneity of being immersed in the elements but is happy to paint in her studio as well.
Lori is a Founding Signature Member of the Pastel Society of the Gold Coast and a member of the Ventura County Pastel Society, now known as the Ventura County Creative Artists. Lori has been a featured demonstration artist for the VCCA, PSGC and The Beverly Hills Art Show. She is a multi-award-winning artist and is an art instructor.
